Weight Control is exactly what it says- being in control of our weight. When functioning correctly our bodies want to be at a natural, healthy, controlled weight so we can live (survival of the fittest) for the longest time possible.

The most commonly used measure for body fat distribution is the BMI: Body Mass Index- A simple index created over 150 years ago to chart the fat to weight/height ratio of a person within a pre-defined range.

When we do not have control of our weight  we have “mis-programmed” our body to work against its natural impulse of survival; by believing that it is better to carry extra weight; by everyday habit; inactivity or even stress,  the reasons behind weight gain can lead to the behaviour and can be as varied as they are unique.

It can be a case of simply just having too many calories daily because our portion sizes don’t look big enough, however there are usually many more aspects to controlling weight.
